As a community-based organization founded in North Clayton County primarily for North Clayton County, our mission is to drive lasting sustainable community development and foster positive socio-economic growth in North Clayton County, GA, through strategic implementation of Community Development Council (CDC) best practices and research-driven strategies. Miles Away From Equity" investigates the environmental and socioeconomic injustices faced by senior black and brown residents of Clayton County, Georgia. Dr. Shaun D. Heckstall's research reveals the stark reality of "cancer-producing" air quality and the impact of privatized government services on their daily lives, contrasting their struggles with those of their more privileged neighbors.
